To my Uncle Tony's family, I wanted to thank you for sharing him with us. He and Uncle Paul were always so good about attending family occasions in NoDak.. We enjoyed their visits greatly and miss him so much. He really was a quirky, wonderful person. I am so sorry I could not make the interment. I offer up special prayers for him and his family.

Dear Michelle,

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. He was always a kind and compassionate man willing to take the time to listen to your problems. Your Dad had such a warm heart, and expressed himself with great insight. I still remember my last encounter with Anton on the last day of class in 1978. As I hurriedly walked to exit the building, your Dad ever the gentleman, ran ahead of me to open the door --- as I walked out into open blue skies full of endless possibilities, he smiled and said, "welcome to the cold cruel world." Anton had the biggest smile I've ever seen and offered his hand in friendship --- we shook hands, and both smiled for a moment, before saying goodbye. I understood what he was saying to me --- that life isn't always fair, and whatever you choose to do with your life, work hard, because it won't be given to you on a silver platter! That was your Dad, and I can honestly say that I'm a better man for knowing him! May God bless you and family in this time of mourning.

I remember Mr Miller as a great teacher with an odd, yet funny sense of humor. He was a man very respected. RIP and you will be missed.

To the Miller family,
After wondering about your father for the last few years and not being able to contact him anymore on the west side of Madison, I found out from his obituary in today's WSJ of his passing.
In my 32 years of teaching first in Middleton and then at SPHS I found your father to be among the nicest, friendliest, and most interesting people I've ever known. Over the years we spent a lot of time together on union negotiating teams, going to conventions,, faculty meetings, department staff meetings, and working on the 1972 election where the best man lost to the crook Nixon. Then we had the joy of the 1976 Carter victory over Ford.
Working and knowing "Tony" was always entertaining. His quips and jokes made tough times bearable and we had a lot of fun with our cohorts. For many years we looked forward to the last day of school so our fishing group could head to Canada to catch fish, tell stories, play cards and laugh. We had great times and tried to "drink Canada dry" but never succeeded. But we sure had fun and those pictures in the obit capture the warmth and humor of your dad as I will always remember him.
The last time I talked to him he was struggling with his health, yet his mind was as sharp as ever and he could still laugh and reminisce.
He is among the most "unforgettable" people I've ever known and we that knew him are better people for our friendship.
HIs memory always brings forth smiles and wonderful memories from times shared with him.
Thinking of you,
Tom and Sandi Robertson
