William "Bill" P. Backes

William “Bill” P. Backes, of Wild Rose, age 66, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at home.  He was born in Port Washington, WI on March 14, 1955 to the late Robert and Lorna (Mast) Backes. He married Esther Ilene Whitehouse on May 31, 1980. Bill was a member of Grace Bible Church in Wild Rose.  He and his wife were missionaries in Panama for eight years. Bill worked in maintenance at area nursing homes for many years; he was a genius at fixing things.  He enjoyed fishing. 

He will be missed by his wife: Ilene; children: Brandon (Rebecca) Backes, Barak (Amanda) Backes, Lorna (Dave) Gonzales, Tiffany (Stephane) Rouamba, Sonia Backes, grandchildren: Dakota, Arianna, Alisha, Emma, Isabella and Logan, siblings: Dennis Backes, Gary (Fran) Backes, Diane (Jack) Van Heesch, Holly (Mike) Kuester, other relatives and friends. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Grace Bible Church, 610 Cary Ave., Wild Rose.
