Tony Turner of Waupaca, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 peacefully in his sleep at the Wisconsin Veterans Home. He was born in Livermore, California on January 24, 1941 to the late Clarence and Lila Jean Turner. He was married to his wife of 58 years, on June 30, 1967. Tony was a veteran of the US Navy (1960 - 1964) serving as a Plane Captain aboard the USS Hancock Aircraft Carrier in the South China Sea during the Vietnam Conflict.
Tony was a Preacher for almost 50 years delivering the gospel of Christ in California, Washington, Michigan and Wisconsin. He moved to Waupaca in 1987 to work with the church of Christ on Badger Street and was deeply committed to the church and his community. He was a volunteer at King Veterans Home, a member of the VFW Post 1037 and served with the VFW Military Honors Team performing countless services for area veterans.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara, his children Bill Turner, Patsy Servey and Sarah Harstvedt with their three spouses, eleven grandchildren and their spouses, and seven great grandchildren, as well as his loving siblings, Rick Turner, Deborah Reagan and Andrea Schuler and their families.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at Maple Crest Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, followed by military honors. He will be laid to rest at Barton Cemetery in the Town of Farmington.
