Susan Schultz Obituary

Susan Nason Schultz passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024. She was born in Stevens Point, WI on November 12, 1941.  She attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and graduated with a double major in English and speech.  On June 24, 1967, she married Gordon Schultz.  They enjoyed 42 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2009.

After graduating college, she taught English and speech at Appleton High School West. Later she worked as an Executive Assistant at Bank One Trust Company and Landmark Staffing Resources.

Susan was active in the communities of Appleton and Waupaca. She was a lifetime member of the PEO sisterhood.  She played in several bridge clubs, one with fellow teachers that started in the late 60’s. She was a past member of the Appleton Curling Club.

Susan was a member of St Mark’s Episcopal Church where she served as a lector and board member of the Vestry. She also volunteered at the Leon Saxeville Library and was a respite and peaceful presence volunteer for ThedaCare Hospice of the Waupaca area.  She loved living on the north shore of Long Lake and was a member of the Long Lake ladies for many years.

Susan was a loving mother and Nana to her grandchildren. Survivors include her three sons and their families. Hans(Melinda) and their family, Josh and Olivia Samaniego and David Jr and Priscilla and Eric Cochran, Todd(Maria) and their family, Avery and Charlie, Lars(Katie) and their family, Uli and Otto. Her brother Charles Nason and his wife, Vikki. Her nieces Laurie Fellenz and Kristin Marquard and their families. She is further survived by extended family and friends.

A memorial service for Susan will be held at St Mark’s Episcopal Church, Waupaca on Thursday, August 22 at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive those attending after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Waupaca, WI.
