Shirley Ostrowski Obituary

Of Waupaca, formerly of Wild Rose, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.  She was born in Wild Rose on July 19, 1936 to the late Peter and Anna (Kropidlowski) Korleski.  Shirley was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma, where she was an active member of the choir.  In 2005 she moved to Waupaca and became a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.  She worked at the Wisconsin Veterans Home for 27 years, retiring in 1998.  Shirley played the concertina and enjoyed playing at the Wisconsin Veterans Home and area nursing homes as well as at family gatherings.  She also enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and swimming at her home on Little Silver Lake in Wild Rose.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Bill (Jana) Ostrowski, Tony Ostrowski, Terese (Doug) King PhD, Mark (Nancy) Ostrowski; grandchildren: Andrew, Alexander and Annika Ostrowski, Hannah and Halle King; sister: Barbara Millin and sisters-in-law: Henrietta (Greg) Zimmerman and Adele Korleski, brother-in-law: Richard Blanchard; other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luke in 2000.

The Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, N2845 Shadow Road, Waupaca.  The visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Rosary Service at 10:30a with Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to Relevant Radio. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
