Shelley Ann Maginnis age 73 of Wild Rose passed from this world to her Heavenly home on June 30, 2025, while undergoing heart valve surgery. Shelley was born in Portage, WI on July 10, 1951 to Leslie and Joyce (Hanson) Mountford.
From a young age, Shelley was known for her joy and smile. She graduated from Portage High School in 1969 and went on to attend UW-Stevens Point earning her degree.
Shelley was employed by CESA 5 and worked at various school districts in the local area, predominantly at Wild Rose Public Schools providing speech therapy services for 40 years. She helped countless children, some of whom would come up to her later as adults to thank her and reminisce.
To Shelley, family was everything. She enjoyed a very close relationship with her mom, sister and daughter. Countless Saturdays were spent together over the decades at her parent’s home in Portage. In retirement, she devotedly cared for her ailing loved ones.
She had a very strong faith in God and in her Savior Jesus Christ. She was a true prayer warrior. She spent time in her Bible daily and prayed for everyone in need without ceasing. Her saving faith gave her peace knowing Heaven was to be her home after this world.
Shelley is survived by her daughter: Megan Maginnis and son-in-law: Andrew Hudziak, brother-in-law: Roger Klaila, niece: Jennifer Klaila, nephew: Matthew (Robyn) Klaila, grandnephew: Cole, uncle: Clifford Mountford, several cousins and numerous dear friends.
