Robert "Bob" L. Zietlow

Robert L. Zietlow, age 73, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital.  He was surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Viroqua, WI on April 6, 1951 to Herbert and Fernie (Turner) Zietlow.  On November 22, 1969, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Susan Sannes, and she preceded him in death on April 13, 2017.

Bob was a loving and devoted husband to Susan and together raised three children on their dairy farm.  He enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid reader.  For a time he had a trucking business and was able to travel all over the country. He enjoyed working in his shop and was a rather innovative welder.  Bob was quite the social butterfly whom enjoyed conversations with everyone, especially his visits with neighbors for a drink and a game of cribbage.  He also loved to attend his grandkids sporting events.

He will be dearly missed by his children: Don Zietlow of Maple Grove, MN, David (Vickkie) Zietlow of Almond and Abbie (Jon) Grancorvitz of Marshfield; sister, Marlyce (Jim) Jueds of Waupaca; grandchildren, Sebastian and Ashley Grancorvitz; step-mother, Patti Zietlow; nephews: Ryan and Adam (Missy) Wehmeyer and Eric Thoe (fiancé, Sarah); niece, Stephanie (Chris) McDaniel; brother-in-law, Gregg Sannes of CA; sister-in-law, Vickie (Les) Thoe of Waupaca; other relatives, including Ryan (Amy) Zietlow and Stacie (Eric) Jacobs and friends, including “The Brothers”.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Susan, and brother-in-law, Gregg Wehmeyer.

The memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Wilson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Special thanks to neighbor and best friend Mike Gillette for many years of help and friendship.  We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Aspirus ICU staff for their compassionate care of our family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
