Richard Obermeier Obituary

Richard L. Obermeier, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Waupaca, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Our House Senior Living in Wisconsin Rapids. He was born in Stratford, WI on November 22, 1937 to William and Gen (Schripke) Obermeier. A firm believer in God, Country and Family, he dedicated 10 years to the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1965.
On June 5, 1976, he was united in marriage to Priscilla Tobler and they were blessed with six children. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2017. He later married Nancy Foster on June 15, 2019, and he became a father to four more.
He was an avid collector of coins and replica cars. He enjoyed his drives out around the countryside of Waupaca. Richard was a dedicated volunteer at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, serving countless hours. More than anything, he loved all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Richard will be very dearly missed and is survived by his wife, Nancy Foster of Wisconsin Rapids; children: Cheryl (Leon) Klish of Wisconsin Rapids, Cathy Dietz of AZ, David Obermeier of Wisconsin Rapids, Chris Anne (Tom) Martinez) of Wausau, Ryan (Victoria) Obermeier of WA, Tanya (Ernie) Kieliszewski of Stevens Point, Michelle (George) Stoffel of PA, Craig (Kim) Foster of MN and Rusty (Jen) Foster of MN; siblings: Roman (Theresa) Obermeier of Wisconsin Rapids, Donna (John) Demski of Wisconsin Rapids, Joan (Kenneth) Gebert of Wisconsin Rapids and Maryann (David) Konopaci of Plover; and sister-in-law, Claudia Obermeier.  He is further survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard; wife, Priscilla; and brother, Roger.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial and full military honors will take place at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca.
