Richard R. May, age 80, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 2, 2021, surrounded by all those that loved him. He was born in West Bend on April 14, 1941 to Arthur and Genevieve (Schroeder) May. Richard had a heart of gold, always putting others’ needs before his own. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved to watch Brewers and Packers games, Old Westerns, and even The Young and the Restless.
He will be dearly missed by his children: Paul Sobolewski of Oshkosh, Scott (Carrianne) May of Florida, Lisa Longland of Appleton, Julie Ann (David) Bonlander of Newton and Jennifer (Tomas) Bautista May of Waupaca; grandchildren: Chelsea Johnson, Alexandria (Even) Aavestrud, Jeremy Longland, Corina (Chris) Molczyk, Bobby (Emily) Longland, Jared (Brittanie) Johnson, Juan Bautista May and Jade Bautista May. Richard is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Patricia Schodron of Minocqua, lifelong neighbor and friend, Tom Schuelke, and his special dog, Maggie.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Jacqueline, sister, Jeanne May and grandson, Jordan May.
According to his wishes, no formal services will be held.
