Paul J. Galetka

Of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, age 89, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024.  He was born in Ladysmith, WI on August 29, 1935 to the late Louis and Agnes (Babiar) Galetka Sr.  Paul was a veteran of the Army.  He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and football, gambling and traveling around the United States. In his younger years he was an avid bowler.

He is survived by his wife: Janet; children: Paul (Joanne) Galetka of Wisconsin Rapids; David Galetka of Hudson; Lori Galetka of Ashland; Jill (Gary) Trzebiatowski of Stevens Point; Janelle Padgett of Warrenton, VA; and Christine Fels of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren: Alexandria "Ali" (Christopher) Thornton, Madison “MJ” (DeMarcus) Zeroth, Emily Scheidegger, Molly (Andy) Thuot and Annie Scheidegger; great grandchildren: Avery Thuot, Charlotte Thuot and Cecilia Zeroth, sister-in-law: Lois Galetka; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Steve, Louie Jr. and Charles Sr., sisters, Helen Hartman, Anna McGinnis, Emily Roth and Mary Bennett.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 12 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home.  The visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral.  Burial with military honors will be at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated.
