Orland “Spook” O. Marotz, Jr., age 48, of Waupaca, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 6, 2020. He was born in Waupaca on May 24, 1971 to Orland Sr. and Joann (Schneider) Marotz. Spook was proud to serve his country with the U.S. Marines. He worked various jobs in plumbing and construction. His hobbies included hunting and camping, but his favorite pastime was fishing with his grandson, Noah.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Tabithyah Marotz (Shane Mizell) of Weyauwega and Daniyl Marotz of Waupaca; grandsons, Noah and Silas; parents, Orland and Joann; brother, Jeffrey Marotz of Waupaca; sister, Karen Marotz (Robyn Torres) of New York; nieces, Jasmine Marotz and Amelia Torres; and a nephew, Elliott Torres.
He was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents, and aunt Karen Schneider.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca, with Dave Bruenning officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will follow the memorial service and burial of cremains will take place in the spring in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
