Nancy L. Embs, age 79, of Wild Rose, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at ThedaCare- Wild Rose. She was born in Oshkosh on November 18, 1946 to Barney and Helen (Karst) Paulsen. She was united in marriage to John Embs on October 1, 1976 and she was looking forward to their 50th anniversary this year.
Nancy was a founding board member of the WRK Fishing Club, where she also served as secretary/treasurer. She loved camping, fishing, crafting, crocheting and sewing. Nancy and John enjoyed the camaraderie that came with hosting deer camp.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, John Embs; sons, Craig (Karen) Pettit and Keith (Lori) Pettit; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Susie Kosmer; sisters-in-law, Kathy Kubasta and Donna Singstock; brother-in-law, Mike (Debbie) Embs; her four-legged companions, her dogs, CeCe and Zach; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Todd Pettit; grandson, Michael Pettit; and eight siblings.
The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, with Pastor Gregory Sluke officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
