Michael "Mike" Garmon Obituary

Michael "Mike" W. Garmon, age 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at his home.

Michael was born on October 23, 1960 to Andrew and Patricia (Farrell) Garmon. He graduated from McFarland High School in 1978. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1978 to 1984, where he spent time in Germany. He married LeeAnn Kaye on December 1, 1984 which blessed him with two children and 3 grandchildren. The two later divorced, but have remained friends.

Mike worked at the Waupaca Foundry and owned and operated B&M Fireworks for many years before he decided to follow his dreams and open Garmon's Farm Market. He poured his heart and soul into growing his garden for 17 years, many of those years with help from his special friend, Sandy Kontos. He often donated fresh fruits and vegetables to the Waupaca Food Pantry.

Mike loved spending time with his best friend and black lab, Tatum, and could often be found together in his garden munching on fresh fruits and vegetables. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, enjoyed playing pool, and loved the Green Bay Packers. Mike loved his family, had a great sense of humor and liked to joke, he was a good friend to many.

He will be dearly missed by his children: Nicholas Garmon (special friend Holly) of Muskego and Heather (Chris) Martin of Nekoosa; grandchildren; Aubrie, William and Colton; special friend, Sandy Kontos of Waupaca, brothers; Danny (Denise) Garmon of Sheboygan and Terry Garmon of Adams. Michael is further survived by the mother of his children, LeeAnn Garmon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Victoria Garmon; and best friend, Tatum.

A celebration of life will be held on March 19, 2022 at Hidden Waters Golf Course from 11am - 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Waupaca Food Pantry or to the Waupaca County Humane Society.

The family thanks the nurses and staff at ThedaCare Hospital for their kind and gentle care. Special thanks are given to Sandy Kontos for her help and care for Mike, which brought comfort to him in his last days.
