Maureen M. (Mares) Abrahamson

Maureen M. Abrahamson, age 61, of Waupaca, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.  She was born in New London on December 23, 1959 to Gerard and Ann (Young) Mares.  In October of 2011, she was united in marriage to Larry Abrahamson.

From a young age, Maureen loved horses and learned to play the piano.  She had a beautiful voice and recorded Christmas music for her mom and dad.  She enjoyed bowling and trips to the casino.

Maureen will be dearly missed by her husband, Larry; parents, Gerard and Ann Mares of Bear Creek; son, Brad Mares (special friend Deana) of Bear Creek and his children, Kaya Klemes, Marcus Mares and Lucas Mares; sister, Marsha (Dan) Johnson of Waupaca and their children, Haley and Alexa; Larry’s son, Nate (Talia) Abrahamson and their children, Rylan and Harper.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, with Fr. Xavier Santiago officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery of Bear Creek.
