On Friday March 27,2026 Louise Staaland was called home at the age of 84.
Louise Lucy was born to Fred and Elsie Kuelz of Evansville, WI. She graduated from Evansville HS.
Louise met LeRoy Staaland her senior year at the local dance hall. They married two years later on April 9, 1960. They set up their home in Brodhead, WI. There they raised 3 children until 1970 when the family moved to Wild Rose, WI.
Louise worked for Rex's Grocery store. She was a cook for Wild Rose School until she and LeRoy bought the drive-in, re-naming it the Rosewood Inn, which they ran for 10 ½ years. Louise then became a librarian for the Patterson Memorial Library, which she did for many years before her retirement.
Louise was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wild Rose. She was one of the starting members of the Wild Rose Kiwanis chapter.
Louise loved listening and dancing to Old Time music. Flowers and birds brought joy to her heart. She was known for her Snowfall predictions each winter. Louise's warm heart, easy smile, and sparkling blue eyes (sometimes with a hint of mischief) made a friend of those who met her. These traits remained to the very end.
She is survived by her husband: LeRoy of almost 66 years. 3 children: Laurie -Wild Rose, Wade (Barb) Montana, and Pam (David) Wild Rose; 2 granddaughters: Rael (Bert) & RaeAnna (Justin) and a great-son: Wyatt. Sister-in- law: Elaine Staaland; 2 nieces: Sandy (John) & Judy (Paul) and a nephew: Greg (Laura). She was preceded in death by; her parents, her brother, Kenneth and his wife Pat, an infant daughter, Linda Lou and parents-in-law.
Family and friends are invited for a Celebration of Life at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 420 Park Ave in Wild Rose on Thursday April, 16, 2026 visitation 10 to 11am, service at 11am with luncheon at church to follow.
