Leland “Lee” G. Brownlow, age 83, of Wild Rose, WI, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 peacefully at home after battling cancer. He was born to the late George and Gertrude (Keup) Brownlow. Lee grew up in the township of Mount Morris and resided there on the family farm his entire life.
Survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of 62 years and three adoring children: Julie (Bob) Christensen, Wild Rose; David (Janice) Brownlow, Wild Rose; Marcie (Keith) Schroeder, Fremont; 5 grandchildren: Jordan (Molly)Thompson, New London; Chad (Laurel) Thompson, Roseville, MN; Breanna (Seth) Thompson, Waupaca; Stephanie (Dalton) Boyce, Wild Rose; Amber (D.J) Brownlow, Green Bay; 3 great grandchildren: Wren, Avicyn and Kara; 2 sisters: Ann (Sieg) Rabie, St. Paul MN; Ruth (Tom) Cerull, Appleton; nieces, nephews and cousins.
After serving in the United States Army, he returned home to manage the bicentennial Brownlow family farm as his chosen life work. Though, he claimed it was a hobby not a job. A devoted family man, he was also a valued active member and leader of various committees on both local and county levels. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Morris Lutheran Church, having been baptized, confirmed, married and a member his entire life.
Lee always found ways of instigating fun. He was a leader of adventure with his family and friends whether it was traveling, polka’s, camping with friends, motorcycling, snowmobiling, grill outs…anything to bring people together to have a few laughs and enjoy each other’s company.
He loved life! He loved a good story. He loved sharing his wisdom. But mostly, he cherished his family. The family now revolves on whatever presence of this most wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, friend and leader that we can keep and cherish forever, as there is only one Lee Brownlow.
A graveside family gathering is planned for Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
