Larry Milan Armstrong, age 84, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024.
Larry was born on May 10, 1940 in Neenah, WI to the late Earle and Irene (Hoyman) Armstrong. He graduated from Winneconne High School and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He spent most of his career as a computer programmer.
He was united in marriage to Marjorie Baugrud on December 14, 1957 and raised three children with her – David Armstrong, Debra (Armstrong) Lewis, and Gregory Armstrong. On October 25, 1986 he married Susan Rosenow and together they raised a daughter – Ana (Armstrong) Hinz.
Larry achieved his goal of obtaining his pilot license and he enjoyed piloting flights in a Beechcraft and Cessna airplanes. He also loved long walks around the neighborhood.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (Baugrud) Stellmacher, his brother, Robert Armstrong and sister-in-law, Gloria (Anunson) Armstrong, his brother, Bruce Armstrong, his sister, Peggy (Armstrong) Searle and brother-in-law, Keith Searle, his brother-in-law, Scott Rosenow, and daughter-in-law, Debra (Bouras) Armstrong. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Kimbel and Calista (Broderick) Baugrud, and Norman and Evelyn (Krenke) Rosenow.
He is survived by his second wife: Susan Armstrong, his children: David Armstrong, Debra (Dennis) Lewis, Gregory (Colleen) Armstrong, and Ana (Adam) Hinz, his grandchildren: Anthony (Stefanie) Armstrong, Daniel (Elizabeth) Lewis, and Rebecca (Matthew) Thistle, and his great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Armstrong, Rhett Armstrong, Scarlett Lewis, and Calista Thistle. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Nancy (Thiel) Armstrong and Sandra (Rosenow) Huse, brother-in-law: Steven (Kim) Rosenow, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church at 1700 Lost Dauphin Rd, De Pere, Wisconsin. The visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m, until the time of the service. A reception will be held at the church following the service.
A private inurnment will be at Floral Hill Cemetery New London, Wisconsin at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their excellent care.
