Kenneth R. Sorenson

Of Iola, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.  He was born in Iola on December 28, 1946 to the late Arling and Gladys (Helgeson) Sorenson.  On June 30, 1973 he married Linda Gregerson.  Ken was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Navy.  He worked for over 40 years at the Waupaca Foundry.  Ken was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion in Iola.  Ken was the founder of the Norwegian Open, as well as golfing he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He will be sadly missed by his wife: Linda; son: Mike; grandchildren: Trace (Amanda), Cole (fiancée, Jane) Zachary (Amelia), Hailey (Garrett) and Jax; brother: James (Linda) Sorenson; sister: Carolyn Gunderson; brother-in-law: Garwood Bahr; sisters-in-law: Nancy Sorenson and Judy Gregerson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason, brother, Dennis, brothers-in-law, Bob Gunderson and Dennis Gregerson and sister-in-law, Judy Bahr.

The Memorial Service will be Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 395 E. Iola St. Iola.  The visitation will be on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
