Kathy J. (Hood) Jacowski

Kathy Joan (Hood) Jacowski, of Almond, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 21, after a long, brave battle with cancer. Kathy was born to Ralph and Joan (Bell) Hood on August 25, 1958 in Marquette, MI.  She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1976.  On April 8, 1989 she married Barry Jacowski in Waupaca, WI.  Together they raised their daughter Nicole. She worked as a Customer Service Manager at Kraft/Heinz for 30 years.

Kathy loved taking care of her grandchildren Carli & Bryce and spending time with her family.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting baby blankets & towels, playing the lottery, cooking and baking, and snuggling with her dogs Mickey and Rusty, who never left her side.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Barry Jacowski of Almond, WI; her daughter, Nicole (Brad) Abrahamson of Waupaca, WI; her grandchildren Carli and Bryce Abrahamson of Waupaca, WI; her three brothers, David (Carie) Hood of Oshkosh, WI, Jerry Hood of Waupaca, WI, and Jon Hood of Waupaca, WI; as well as many other loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  Kathy is also survived by her best friends; Kim Olson of Scandinavia, WI and Colleen Delong of Marquette, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Joan Hood; in-laws Andrew and Audrey Jacowski; nephew, Bobby Jacowski; and her niece Amy Jacowski.

A memorial celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the celebration.
