Joan H. (Morse) Grawvunder

Joan Helen (Morse) Grawvunder, age 85, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021.  She was born to Wilber and Grace (Schmidt) Morse on October 21, 1935 in Waukesha, WI.  The second of ten children, her life always revolved around her love for Jesus and her family.

On July 4, 1953 she married Robert O. Grawvunder.  Over the years they added 10 children to their lives, some adopted and some by birth, but all equally and greatly loved.

Joan loved many things in life.  Her hobbies ranged from reading to gardening to music.  These last few years living at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, she had the privilege of writing a monthly article for the camp’s newsletter, The Courier.

Her favorite thing in life, though, was sharing the love of Jesus with those around her because she wanted all those she cared about to join her for eternity in Heaven.  Having people know about Jesus and His love for us was the most important thing to her.  She wanted everyone to know that they have a Savior who loved them, died for their sins, rose from the dead, and is in Heaven waiting for His children to come home.  She would tell anyone that they aren’t too bad and nothing they ever have done could separate them from the love of Jesus Christ.

Joan is survived by her daughters: Candace Grawvunder of MO, Penny Gorges of Appleton, Tammy Grawvunder (Brian) of Manawa, and Jennifer Grawvunder of CA; sons: Robert (Ilona) Grawvunder Jr. of Waupaca, Michael (Cindy) Grawvunder of Waupaca, David (Melissa) Grawvunder of Park Falls, and Jerry (Liz) Grawvunder of Ogdensburg.  Joan is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, six siblings, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr; unborn child, Samuel; parents, Wilber and Grace Morse; three siblings, two grandchildren, one great grandchild and one great-great grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  She will be laid to rest aside her husband at Floral Hill Cemetery in New London.
