Jean E. (Nelson) Stine Schwarten

Of Waupaca, age 93, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025.  She was born in Waupaca to the late Carl and Inga (Budsberg) Nelson.  She was a member of Badger Community Church, where she married her first husband, Wayland Stine on September 17, 1949. Jean enjoyed playing the piano, teaching and  was an avid Alabama Basketball Fan.

She will be sadly missed by her sons: Lonnie (Mary), Bruce (Kolette), Greg (Crickett), daughters: Colene (Steve) Baker, Candi (Tom) Frost, Connie (Wayne) Schriver and Camille (Jeff) Diedrich; grandchildren: John (Brandy) Metcalf, Vicki (Chad) Nagel, Karen (Nathan) Adams, Wayland (Bruna) Stine II, Joshua Baker, Jeremiah (Katie) Baker, Johanna (Jimmy) Bonner, Julianna (Mike) Colella, Jed Baker, Keaira Stine, Daniel Frost, David (Amber Trzciensky) Frost, Melissa Frost, Mark (Hannah) Frost, Luke (Katie) Frost and Liberty (Hunter) Penick, Carl (Mindi) Stine, Colette Stine, Cassandra (Justin) Boyle, Christa (Chad) Houghton, Christiana Stine, Caleb Stine, Rachel (Isai) Gonzalez, Kaylin Ferrso, Wayne Schriver, Ethan Schriver, Makenzie (Nathan) Lamb, Zachary Diedrich, Reagan Diedrich, Elijah Diedrich and Nathanael Diedrich, 50 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, special friend and caregiver: Dawn Steinberg; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayland and second husband, Jerry Schwarten and her daughter, Carla (John) Metcalf

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 28, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home.  The visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral.  Burial will be in Badger Cemetery.
