Janice F. (McIntyre) Koch Barnhart of Waupaca, age 82, was received by her Heavenly Father, Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Jan was born to Keith and Ann (Moss) McIntyre on April 23, 1938 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point. She led an eventful and full life until the very end.
Jan was the matriarch of five generations, mother to nine children. Because of that she was into everything related to kids: Sunday school teacher, PTA, 4H leader, Girl Scout leader, and cheerleader at her children’s sporting events. Giving her family a legacy of love was important to her.
Jan was multi-talented and used her gifts to create things: clothing, wedding dresses, quilts, paintings, and ceramics are just a few. She was also an amazing cook and baker and was sought after for wedding cakes and catered meals. She also used those talents at a restaurant she owned and operated and, later, at a Bed & Breakfast she owned with one of her sons.
She is survived by her children: Deborah McLlarky, Lori Arneson (fiancé Mike Weston), Cindy Nowlin, Mike Koch, Alan Koch, Wendy (David) Sellier, Brian (Amy) Koch and Kelly (Gina) Koch; stepchildren: Dianne (Dennis) Jochman, Bill (Penne) Anderson and Pam (Chris) Gans; 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; sister Judy Dain (Rodney), brother Jim McIntyre (Andrea); numerous nieces, nephews and “adopted family”. In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her daughter Dawn Marie Lewellen, husbands Ed Koch and Red Barnhart, and sister Joan Marie Best.
A Memorial Service will be on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Victory Church, E3443 Apple Tree Lane, Waupaca. Please practice Covid proactive choices. Thank you to Sharon Richardson Hospice for their caring assistance.
