Of Ogdensburg, age 82, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at his home. He was born in Marion on March 29, 1941 to the late Chris and Gladys (Mork) Mortensen. Jim worked at the Waupaca Foundry for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and planting his potatoes. He loved watching sports both professional and his granddaughter’s, Sophia.
He will be missed by his wife: Darlene; children: Jill (Darrel) Striebb; Jimmy Mortensen, Stacy (Clay Dailey) Wohlrabe, Steve (Beth) Wohlrabe and Kelly Ferstl-Brady; daughter-in-law: Dawn Mortensen; grandchildren: Miranda, Keirsten, Travis, Alex, Draven, Sofia, Danielle, Daytana, Amy Jo, Tommy, Sawyer, Nikki and Kalvin; many great grandchildren; sister: Yvonne Eland; brothers: Dean, Dennis and Doug Mortensen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Danny and sister, Bev.
The Graveside Service will be on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Park Cemetery in Ogdensburg.
