Howard Floyd Anderson, 78, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, and love.
Howard was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Beverly, and a proud father to his daughter Tracey (Bill) Wren, Grandpa Howard to his two grandsons, Zach and Hunter. He is also survived by his sister, Judith Golimowski, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Ruth and Richard Anderson, and brothers, Richard Anderson and Thomas Anderson.
As Howard grew older, he became wonderfully social, forming friendships that he truly treasured. He had a great sense of humor and a natural gift for making people laugh and smile—often when they needed it most. His warmth and easygoing nature made others feel instantly at home.
At just seventeen years old, Howard enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving aboard the USS Coucal (ASR-8). He was awarded a Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars. His love of the water never faded after his service. He spent many happy hours fishing, always hoping the next cast would finally land that elusive “record musky”—a goal he chased with good humor, even if it remained just out of reach.
Howard will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the genuine connections he made with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The Graveside Service is being held at 2pm Friday, January 16th at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (CWVMC), located at N2666 County Rd QQ.
