Gene A. Sorensen
Obituary
Of Waupaca, age 88, passed away at home on Saturday, January 21, 2023. He was born in Racine on July 19, 1934 to the late Svend and Laura (Pedersen) Sorensen. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Gene was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Waupaca. He was the former Public Works Director for the City of Waupaca.
He is survived by his son: Stephen Sorensen; step sons: Stephen (Sheryl) Schlafer and Michael Schlafer; sister: Janet (Charles) Larsen, special friend: Jo Ann Wetherbee; grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, daughter Deborah Sorensen, step brothers, Elmer and Chester.
According to Gene’s wishes no services will be held. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
