Of Waupaca, age 89, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022. He was born in Waupaca on June 27, 1933 to the late Rudy and Alice (Gunderson) Haase. Gene was in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was injured twice, receiving two Purple Hearts.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Bruce (Joann) Haase; Mary Frisbie and Carol (John) Prill; brother: Glen (Mary Jo) Haase; grandchildren: Shawn, Aaron, Matt, Christina, Kari, Damien, Michael, Bridgette, Sarah, Samantha and Stephanie; great grandchildren: Kane, Kiali, Gavin, Garit, Mariah, Zachary, Paislee, Harper, Briggs, Jaxon and Cruz, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion, second wife, Marlene, daughters, Janet Haase and Sandy Halsey, granddaughter, Adeline, brothers and sisters.
The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. The visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manawa.
