Milwaukee, WI - Gary M. Bump, age 59, passed away on November 19, 2023, in Dayton, WI. He was born on August 9, 1964, in Charleston, SC, to MaryAnn Bump and James Bump Sr. (preceded in death). Gary was the loving father of Steven Bump (Pu Domyoji Kalpapruek), Jason Bump and their mother Petra Pelka, loving life-partner to Jane Tezak/Fletcher, brother of Jim Bump Sr. (Lori), Dave Bump (Kimberly), and Kathleen Keegan. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Clementine/Gilbert Seifert, and Millie Bump/Calvin Bump Sr..
Gary was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army in Germany where he lived for many years. He was proud to be of service during Operation Desert Storm driving an armored personnel carrier. He was also proud member of the American Legion and actively participated in numerous Veteran functions and was a dedicated member of the American Legion Riders.
In his free time, Gary enjoyed hunting, immersing himself in nature, and learning about Native American roots and culture & riding his motorcycle. He attended many Wisconsin Tribal PowWows and cherished spending time with his family and many friends.
Gary attended West Milwaukee High School from 1979-82 and later graduated from MATC in Logistics, then pursued a career with Omni Logistics/Mach One Global for 13+ year as a Operations Supervisor.
A ceremony to honor Gary will be held at the American Legion Post 434, located at 9327 S Shepard Ave, Oak Creek, WI 53154 on Jan. 2nd from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Following will be a celebration of Gary's life at On The Clock Bar & Grill 4301 S. Howell Ave. from 5pm-8pm. In Leiu of flowers, contributions in Gary's memory can be made to the American Legion Post 434 at the same address as above.
The Maple Crest Funeral Home, located at N2620 HWY-22 Waupaca, WI 54981, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Full Military burial will be Jan 3rd, 2024 at 1pm at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery N2665 County Road QQ King, WI 54946.
