Evelyn "Evie" M. (Krenke) Rosenow

Of New London, age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 28, 2023.  She was born in Clintonville on October 24, 1933 to the late Arnold and Esther (Potratz) Krenke.  Evelyn was baptized on November 19, 1933 by her uncle Rev. John F. Potratz.

The Krenke family lived in Tigerton, WI  until 1936 when they moved to a farm south of Clintonville.  Evelyn was confirmed March 30, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bear Creek.  She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1951.  Evelyn married Norman Rosenow on May 21, 1955 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville.  They were married while Norman was in the Air Force.  They lived in Everett, WA until his tour of duty was over in 1956. They then returned to Wisconsin, living in Appleton and were members of Faith Lutheran Church, where Evelyn taught Sunday School. In 1969 they moved to the farm south of New London.

Evelyn was a stay-at-home mother until the children were grown. She then worked at New London Family Medical Center for 14 years as a receptionist and switchboard operator.  Evie’s hobbies were baking, sewing and bowling.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church since 1969 and long-time member of the ladies aid. After retirement her and Norman spent many enjoyable winters in Arizona.

She will be missed by her children: Sandra Huse, Susan (Larry) Armstrong, and Steven (Kim) Rosenow; grandchildren: Cynthia (John) Devroy, Ana (Adam) Hinz, Ryan Rosenow, Noah Rosenow and Katelyn Rosenow; great grandchildren: Parker and Jaxon; sister: Dorothy (David) Chandler; sister-in-law: Jeanette Rekow; other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, son, Scott, son-in-law, Stephen Huse, brother, Walter (Marie) Krenke, sisters, Gertrude (Arnold) Malotky, Lucille (William) Pethke, brothers-in-law, Arnie Heideman, Clifford (Alice) and Duane (Karen) Rosenow and Evans Rekow.

The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church,  200 E. Quincy St., New London.  The visitation will be on Wednesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral.  Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their excellent care.
