Edwin Hudziak Jr., age 74, passed away peacefully June 24, 2026 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton, WI. Edwin was born January 19, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI to Edwin Sr. and Margaret Hudziak. Edwin graduated from Wild Rose High School, Wild Rose, WI in the class of 1970. After completing school, Edwin worked for Deist Forest Products in Wild Rose as a mechanic. Through his employment there and mutual friends, he met Carol Heerhold on the steps of the Wild Rose Mercantile building, and they were married on April 19, 1975. Shortly after their marriage, Edwin returned to his life’s passion, farming. Edwin also enjoyed all things mechanical, and became a very competent self-taught mechanic, repairing tractors and vehicles for friends and neighbors for many years. He loved anything John Deere, and was an avid collector, with a particular fondness for his old 2 cylinder Deere tractors. Edwin and his passion for the things he loved will truly be missed.
Edwin is survived by his sons: Michael (Katherine) and Andrew (Megan); granddaughters: Mila and Anna; siblings: Donald (Margaret) Hudziak, Donna Hudziak, David (Rae Jean) Hudziak, Sandy (Brian) Anderson, Diane (Kenneth) Winske and Shirley (Todd) Orr; brother-in-law: Mike (Tracy) Heerhold; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his parents Edwin Sr. & Margaret; in-laws: Miles Heerhold, Gladys (Kermit) Keuhnel, and Karen Heerhold.
The funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 3rd, 2026 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will take place at Hope Cemetery in the Town of Belmont.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Cherry Meadows Hospice, Theda Care Appleton, Theda Care Waupaca, Maple Crest Funeral Home and all the people that helped Edwin and his family along the way.
