Of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was born in Milbank, South Dakota on December 7, 1933 to the late Frank and Kathryn (Tobin) Catlin. Don served in the US Navy for 20 years. He served two tours in Korea and nine tours in Vietnam. He received the Good Conduct Medal four times, Navy Achievement Medal, RVN Civil Action Unit Citation First Class, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and FMC Combat Operations Insignia.
He will be sadly missed by his wife: Elvira; children: Floyd (Lynn) Phillips, Loretta (David) Drewry, Robert (Theresa) Phillips, Brenda Tracey, John Phillips, Alan Catlin, grandchildren and great grandchildren; twin sister: Donna Harrington, sister: Shirley Butenschoen, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Lamb and brothers, Kenneth and Dale Catlin.
The graveside service with military honors will be on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
