Donald R. Bretwisch

Of Waupaca, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at home.  He was born in Chicago on January 28, 1930 to the late Edward and Irene (Hartzer) Bretwisch.  Donald was a veteran of the US Navy.  He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.  Donald’s membership in the Loyal Order of the Moose was so important to him, he was a member for 50 plus years.  He volunteered for over 20 years at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.

He will be missed by his wife: Joan; children: Lynn (Stu) Holland, Jean (Gary) Hernal, Bill (Kim) Bretwisch, Bob Bretwisch, Mary (John) Barry, Ken (Stacey) Bretwisch, Rich (Betsy) Bretwisch;  grandchildren: Brett, Kerri, Matt, Kelly, Nick, Jordan, Amber, Erin, Julia, Samantha, Autumn, Kaley, Ryan, Bridget and Megan; 6 great grandchildren: Cecilia, Clara, Brielle, Mia, Everet and August.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard.

The Memorial Service will be on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10 am at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church of Waupaca. Burial and military honors will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
