Age 87, passed away at Stevens Point Health Services under the care of hospice on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. He was born in Detroit, MI on April 27, 1937 to the late Prosper and Margaret Broadwell. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1945. David attended elementary and high school in Wild Rose. He was a veteran of the Air Force, honorably discharged in 1959. He married Mary Anderson on June 6, 1964. He traveled to Norway, Hawaii and many places in the United States. David loved spending time at the family cottage in Northern WI, four wheeling with family.
David worked at paper mills as a computer programmer analyst. He served 10 years on the Wild Rose Fire Department, and one year on the Village Board. He spent 19 years working with 50 plus Class Reunion, working with school personnel, creating an alumni data base that contains a complete list of alumni from 1912 until present date.
He is survived by his wife: Mary; sons: Darrin, Doug (Dede) and Jeffrey (special friend, Taylor); brothers and sisters-in-law: John and Joan Anderson, Charles and Nancy Anderson, Sidney and Carol Auch; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by father and mother-in-law: Arnold and Nordis Anderson and half-brother, Murray Broadwell.
The Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. The visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
