Daniel "Dan" Paul Getlinger

Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. Dan Getlinger passed away on Friday March 5, 2021 surrounded by family, due to complications of Parkinson’s disease.  He was born on October 31, 1955 in New London the third child of LaVerne and Carol (Grosskopf) Getlinger.  Dan was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church in Hortonville. He was baptized and confirmed in the faith.  He enjoyed the music of the Beatles and the Old Car Show. Dan worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory, Simmons Juvenile Furniture, and Hortonville Canning Factory and at numerous dairy farms. He will be remembered as a loving, gentle, kind, quiet man. On June 5, 1976 he married Julie Hofensperger, they later divorced.  Together they had four children: Tracy (Ken) Karpinski, Jason (special friend Marcy) Getlinger, Elizabeth Getlinger and Keri (Mike) Christensen; grandchildren: Danielle, Emily, Angelina, Peyton, Hailee, Westyn, Kolton and Watson.  He is further survived by his mother: Carol Getlinger, siblings: Kathy (Al) Hill, Gerald (Sally) Getlinger, Jenny (Jackson) Kuske, Sarah (Jeff) Kamin, sister-in-law: Martha Getlinger; special friends, Leo and Scott, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, LaVerne in 2010 and brother, Stanley Getlinger in January of 2021. 

The Funeral Service will be on Friday March 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 752 E. Grandview Rd., Hortonville.  Friends and family may gather on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank the special people at St. Joseph’s Residence, especially, Stephanie, Mary and Vicky.
