Daniel Edwards Obituary

My precious Daniel Edwards went to be with Jesus on Saturday June 18, 2022. Dan was born on September 10, 1952 to Edward and Olga Edwards in Wadena, Minnesota. He had been at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King, Wi where he battled with ALS. He was a favorite among the staff. He always had a million-dollar smile and sense of humor.

Dan was an avid reader; he had a hunger for knowledge and was faithful to his Christianity and to his wife. He co-authored a book with his cousin Chris Andreas, “The Doubters Testament.” He loved to watch the deer in northern Wisconsin. Dan loved music as well. When he was a child, his family would sing together accompanied by his mother on the piano. Later, he was a member of the Quartet Barbershop and would also sing with his wife Adrienne.

Dan joined the Air Force in 1973 where he served as a weather forecaster. When Dan was in the service he lived in faraway places like Turkey and Germany as well as many places in the U.S. After the military he went to North American Baptist Seminary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He earned a Master of Divinity degree. He went on to serve in four churches: St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Trufant, Michigan, River of Life Church in Oshkosh, WI, Evangelical Covenant Church in Park Falls, WI and  First Covenant Church in Bessemer, Pennsylvania. After that Dan served as an Evangelical Pastor and hospice chaplain at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, Wi. He served there along with Lutheran ministry home care.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Adrienne Edwards of Waupaca, Wi; siblings: Susan Richards, Paul (Michelle) Edwards, Lee (Linda) Edwards and Sharon Edwards. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Stark. He will always be in our hearts. Godspeed Daniel – enjoy your heavenly rewards.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Nekimi, 491 Old Oregon Rd, Oshkosh, with Rev. James Reiff officiating. Military honors will commence following the service.
