Carol J. (Heerhold) Hudziak

Of Waupaca, age 71, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, with her family beside her following a courageous battle with complications of cancer surgery. Carol was born June 23, 1950 to Miles and Gladys Heerhold in Milwaukee.  Carol married Edwin Hudziak Jr. on April 19, 1975. Carol began working for Waupaca County in 1975, holding various positions in the Human Services Department, until her retirement in 2012. Carol loved her family and was always there to help out when needed, regardless of the circumstances. She especially loved her 2 granddaughters, Mila and Anna Hudziak, who gave her the motivation to fight her illness so valiantly.

Carol is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edwin; her sons: Michael (Katherine) and Andrew (Megan); granddaughters: Mila and Anna Hudziak; mother-in-law: Margaret; sisters-in-law: Donna Hudziak, Sandi (Brian) Anderson, Diane (Ken) Winske and Shirley (Todd) Orr; brothers-in-law: Donald (Margaret) Hudziak and David (Rae Jean) Hudziak; brother: Mike (Tracy) Heerhold; niece: Lorri (Rick) Pena Ames; numerous, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Karen, father-in-law, Edwin Sr and step father, Kermit. The family would like to thank the Waupaca County Volunteer Transportation Program, especially Janna and Elaine. The staff at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, and especially the staff at Crossroads Care Center in Weyauwega for their exceptional care of Carol and her family in her final days.

The Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 8611 Hwy 54, Almond.  The visitation will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
