Of Wild Rose, age 94, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at her home. She was born in Amherst on August 28, 1928 to the late Edwin and Rena (Brooks) Schroeder. On May 8, 1948 she married Norman Hoeft, he preceded her in death on July 30, 2013. Carol was a long-time member of Wild Rose Methodist Church and a member of the ladies aid there. She was also active in many civic organizations.
She will be missed by her son: Larry (Penny) Hoeft; daughter: Linda (James) Flegner; grandchildren; Scott Flegner, Heidi (Andy) Jegerlehner, Greg (Deanna) Hoeft, Debra (Patrick) Connell, Eric Hoeft; special step-grandchildren: Duane (Jenny) Flegner, Stephanie (Alan) Johnson and Mylissa (Nate) Hartman, great grandchildren: Ryan, Will, Jack, Norman, Gretchen, Thomas and Oliver; special goddaughters: Carol Schliepp and Debbie Psenicka; brother-in-law: Gary Snortum; sisters-in-law: Voni Schroeder and Lorraine Hoeft, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ken Schroeder and Len (Evelyn) Schroeder and sister, Connie Snortum.
The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 12 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. The visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
