Of Waupaca, age 87, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025. He was born in Stockton, WI on July 2, 1938 to the late Daniel and Mabel (Armatoski) Groholski. He married Charlene Wilson in Waukegan, Illinois. Fritz was a veteran, serving in the US Marine Corp. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Fritz was a hard worker and a jack of all trades. He worked at Waupaca Foundry and then started his own business. His last job before retirement was Community Industries, where he was a maintenance man and van driver. He wanted to make sure that the handicap people he drove for had warm winter coats, hats and gloves. He often bought them himself, as well as giving his own hunting boots and jacket to someone who wanted to hunt but couldn’t afford to buy their own gear. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and regularly donated to St. Jude’s, Boys Town and Father Flanagan’s.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Barbara (Steve) Johnson, Joe (Jenni) Groholski, Richard Groholski and Theresa (Gary) Williams; grandchildren: Steve, Samantha, Christian James, Brittany, Richard and Cody; many great grandchildren; brother: Daniel (Janice) Groholski; sister-in-law: Gail Groholski; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, sister, Rose, brothers, Frederick and Darryl and grandson, Todd Phelps.
The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 12 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. The visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
