Robert “Bud” Hoeppner
Of Waupaca, age 99, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019. He was born in Appleton, WI on March 31, 1920.
He met and married Margurite Kotz in 1942 before he left to serve the US Army Air Corp in WWII in North Africa and Europe where he was a First Lieutenant serving as a bombardier.
He loved flying and spoke often of his love of the service and for his country.
After the WWII, Bud founded Hoeppner Construction and Hoeppner Real Estate.
Bud is survived by his wife Margurite of almost 77 years, a daughter Barbara, a daughter Anne (Don) and a son Bob (Jean) a sister Charlotte, seven grandchildren: Aaron, Zoe, Chris, Ryan, Michael, Stephanie and Jennifer; several great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Minnie Hoeppner, a brother Chuck Hoeppner, Aunts and Uncles and most all of his friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Maple Crest Funeral Home, with Chaplain Chuck Tews officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A graveside service with military honors will take place at 1 p.m. at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
