Richard C. Kruske, a resident of The Legacy in Waupaca, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the age of 94. He was born in Waupaca on January 7, 1924, the only child to Charles and Gladys (Isaac) Kruske. From 1943 to 1946 he served his country with the U.S. Navy. On October 14, 1950 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Tessen. Richard retired from Wisconsin Bell after working as a repairman for 39 years. He found a lovely piece of property on Marl Lake where he envisioned building a cottage. Before he and Geraldine were wed, he did just that, and they were able to enjoy 30 years of retirement in their cottage on the Chain. Richard had a plethora of hobbies he enjoyed; gardening, woodworking, photography and he was even a private pilot.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Waupaca; son, Daniel (Anne) of Waupaca; daughter, Susan (John) Petit of Appleton; grandchildren: Melissa (Greg) Millar, Joshua Petit (Bryce Woyak) and Sarah (Stephen) Klein; and seven great-grandchildren: Liam and Walter Millar, Emmett, Grant, Derek, Addison and Lydia Klein.
The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with Fr. Amalraj Roche officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will follow the service and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
