Michael J. Jensen

            Michael J. Jensen, age 54, of Mt. Morris, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.  He was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 5, 1962 to Elwood and Joyce (Ferguson) Jensen.  He was proud of the 10 years of work he did on the oil rigs in New Mexico.  Most recently he was working as a maintenance mechanic.  Michael was a huge sports fan who loved the Packers, riding motorcycle, fishing, and especially golf.  He enjoyed playing guitar, loved classic rock and “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd summed his life to a tee.  Gardening and creating beautiful rock and flower beds with Marcie were also favorite activities.  If there was ever a problem, he would just fix it. He loved family and will be missed by all who knew him.

            He is survived by his fiancée, Marcie Thompson of Mt. Morris; sons, Michael Jensen, Jr. and Sam Jensen, both of Eau Claire; his mother, Joyce Woodbury of UT; Marcie’s children: Jordan Thompson of Mt. Morris, Chad Thompson of MN, and Breanna Thompson of Mt. Morris; and her parents, Leland and Barbara Brownlow of Mt. Morris.  Michael is further survived by brothers, Dennis Jensen of IN and Bart Jensen of New London and sisters, Lori Choules of AZ and Brenda Jensen of CA.  He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood, a sister, Linda, and a niece.

            A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home in Waupaca.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.  He will be laid to rest at Howes Corners Cemetery in Mt. Morris.
