James E. Vander Bloomen

Of Waupaca, age 94, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018.  He was born in Kaukauna on August 17, 1924 to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Brugman) Vander Bloomen.  On October 21, 1947 he married Grace Parkins, she preceded him in death on March 21, 2018.  Jim was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Marines.  He was a barber in Waupaca, retiring in 1972.  Jim was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the VFW Honor Guard, DAV member and Knights of Columbus member. 

He is survived by his daughters: Linda Butler of Clermont, FL; Bonnie (Jeff) Hollnbacher of Waupaca; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer and Edward Vander Bloomen.

The Memorial Mass will be on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Chapel of the Wisconsin Veterans Home.  Friends and family may gather from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in the Chapel. Burial will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
