Gina Micaletti Hiltgen

Of Waupaca, age 54, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at home with her family, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born February 4, 1963 in Norfolk, VA to Ed and Jeannette (Doljanin) Micaletti. Gina grew up in the Rhinelander, WI area and Westmont, Illinois. After high school she trained as a medical assistant and worked for multiple clinics including General Surgery, Family Medicine and Pediatrics in northeast Wisconsin while raising her children in Pulaski, WI. She returned to school as a nontraditional student, earning an Associates RN degree from NWTC in 2015 at age 52, and was licensed as an RN shortly afterward.

Gina loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, paddling sports, fishing, and camping with family and friends. She also enjoyed antique picking as a hobby, selling her picks at multiple locations in the Waupaca area.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Dr. Greg Hiltgen; children: Ashley Bath of Appleton, Eric (Kristin) Bath of Rhinelander, grandson Dominic; Father Ed Micaletti of Shawano, brothers and sister: Ed (Terri) Micaletti of Dallas, Dina (Emil) Pocernich of Sun Prairie, Mark Micaletti of Dekalb, IL; Stepchildren Hiliary (Dustin) Heath of Shawano, Geoff Hiltgen of Columbus OH, and Tad Hiltgen of Shawano; stepgrand children Breah Hiltgen, Reagan Heath, and Greyson Heath all of Shawano; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Jeanette, and infant brother Christopher.

Memorial service will be on Friday October 27, 2017 at 3 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Friends and family may gather at the church from 1 pm until the time of the service. The family would like to thank ThedaCare Oncology Services, especially Dr.’s Krueger and Chaudray for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to support cancer care in the area.
