Gerald "Gerry" R.B. Kamke

Of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, age 73, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, June 21, 2019.  He was born in Green Bay on May 7, 1946 to the late Rupert and Dorothy (Schultz) Kamke.  Gerry was a veteran of the Coast Guard, serving during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was an active member of Veterans for Peace.  Gerry loved music and writing poetry.  He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and was an outdoor enthusiast. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.  To know Gerry was to love him, he had a positive attitude no matter what adversity he faced. He touched so many people during his life.    

He will be sadly missed by his children and many loved ones, Robin (Dave) Eichhorst, Trent (Michelle) Kamke, Erin (Matt Kresge) Kamke, Jay Kamke and Devin (Stephen) Custer; grandchildren: Phil, Dyllan (Courtney), Zach, Riley, Conner Belle, Trent Jr., Jack, Halli, James (Ramonita),  Alex, Nick, Maia, Matelea, Delia and Audrey; sister: Judy (Don) Baer, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Dianne and brother-in-law, Willard.

The Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Main Chapel of the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.  Friends and family may gather from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Veterans Affairs https://www.volunteer.va.gov/apps/VolunteerNow/.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Wisconsin Veterans Home for the great care our Dad received.
