William J. Manny

Of Waupaca, age 74, passed away peacefully with his family on Thursday, November 16, 2017.  He is now trying to outfish God in Heaven.  He was born in Waupaca on March 9, 1943 to the late Walter and Beulah (Woolsey) Manny.  Bill was a veteran of the US Air Force “SAC”, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis as a photo interpreter. He married Laura Corrigan on October 12, 1968.  He was an electrician at the Waupaca Foundry, owned and operated Chain O’Lakes Taxidermy & Bait, worked at many local golf courses and operated Bill’s Sports, making customized golf clubs.  Bill’s favorite job was driving school bus for the Waupaca School District.  He had many interests, including Mopars, Golden Retrievers; he had his “Maggie Lu”, Green Bay Packers and fishing.

He will be sadly missed by his wife: Laura; daughter: Dawn Marie (Dean) Cornelius; grandchildren: Josiah, Kortney, Selena and James Jr.; sister: Pam (Bill) Pomerenke; brother-in-law: Jim (Kathy) Corrigan; nieces and nephews: Jason (Wendy) DeGodt, Tracy (Bob) Reimer, Jesse DeGodt, Christina (Dan) Bitner, Andrew (Laura) Corrigan, best friend and fishing buddy: Ken Graef; dog: Maggie Lu, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James Sr. on January 24, 2013, sister, Nancy (Jay) DeGodt and his in-laws, James and Mabel Corrigan.

The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca, with Pastor Jeff Fletcher officiating.  The visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 until 7 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Lind Center Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
