Theodore “Ted” Petersen

Of Waupaca, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center.  He was born in Waupaca on June 19, 1925 to the late Henry and Celia (Hartman) Petersen.  On September 6, 1947 he married Betty Jane Pohl.  Ted was a veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp.  He worked many years for the Waupaca Highway Department and then for the City of Waupaca.  He had owned the Rhythm Roller Rink.  Ted enjoyed bowling and repairing lawn mowers. 

He is survived by his children: Larry C. Petersen of Havre, MT; Lawrence “Butch” (Marlene) Petersen of Waupaca; Jean (Bruce) Barlow of Waupaca; Pamella (Gary John) Sannes of Amherst; brothers: Richard (Ardyce) Petersen of Woodland Hills, CA; David “Pete” (Pat) Petersen of Waupaca; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandsons and 1 expected great great grandson, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and sister, Marcia McDonald.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home.  The visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials will be given to the Humane Society.
