Terence "Terry" A. Monteith

Of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, age 71, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, in the arms of his loving family.  He was born in Elgin, Illinois on December 25, 1946 to Darrel and Bette (Schmitz) Monteith.  Terry was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Army.  He was an avid adventure enthusiast.  His most passionate hobby and profession was aviation.  He was a pilot, scuba diver and sky diver.  Terry was a lot of fun and will be remembered as a generous, funny person and a great story teller.  He loved travelling and animals.

He will be sadly missed by his wife: Linda; mother: Bette, children: Sarah Monteith, Charity (Douglas) Dorn, Guy Grenfell and Meagan (Kevin) Grenfell, grandchildren: Ronald, Mary, Jason, Amanda, Ruthie, Sophia, Cooper, Dakarai, Tulani and Taj; brother: Darrel “Tubby” Monteith, sister: Eva (Mark) Middendorf, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, brothers, Douglas and Bruce and an infant son, Michael.

The family asks that you bring your favorite “Terry Stories” to the Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Main Chapel of the Wisconsin Veterans Home.  The visitation will be on Tuesday at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Wisconsin Veterans Home or Alzheimer’s Research.  The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, who took such good care of him. To know Terry was to love Terry.
