John J. Rogers

            John J. Rogers, age 68, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017.  He was born in Chicago, IL on October 13, 1949 to Frank and Selma (Kuhlman) Rogers.  He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army.  John loved to go fishing, eventually relocating to Wisconsin to continue fishing for white bass.

            He is survived by three children: Jeremy (Becky) Rogers of Des Moines, IA; Jeffrey (Tammy) Rogers of Wilson, NC; and Tara (Chris) Nixon of Algonquin, IL; grandchildren: Kiana and Ethan Rogers, Matthew, Cameron and Bridget Capps, Caitlin Rogers, Bailey, Kelsey, Gavin, Liam and Caden Nixon; Goddaughter, Joneen Willis of Fort Myers, FL; brother, Glenn (Deb) Rogers of Hoffman Estates, IL; sister, Lynne (Jim) McGovern of Bridgeview, IL; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

            John was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Stella Rogers.

            A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Main Chapel of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, N2665 Cty Rd QQ, King, WI 54946, with full military honors to follow.  Visitation will be held at the chapel from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the National MS Society.
