Jane Harriet (Klatt) Algiers

Of New London, age 85 passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Joseph Residence.  She was born in New London on March 4, 1932 to the late Adolph and Ada (Edminster) Klatt.  Jane was united in marriage to Edgar Algiers on June 14, 1952, and they were blessed with eight children.   After raising her family, she returned to school and received her RN license and was recognized in the national news.  She was a dedicated nurse and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.  Jane was a long time member of  United Methodist Church.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Edgar; children: Karen (Timothy) Nitke of FL; Mary (Ron) Bellile of New London; Teresa (Rick) Kaepernick of CA; Ted (Pat) Algiers of New London; Jennifer (Mark) Flease of New London; Kathy Algiers of Appleton; Tom (Valerie) Algiers of New London; Tim (Jane) Algiers of Sun Prairie; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;  a sister: Jennie Schumacher of Wausau; brother, James (Donna) Klatt of Menasha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents Jane was preceded in death by brothers: Richard and Robert Klatt; two grandsons, Lance and Kent Kaepernick; close aunt and cousin: Harriet and Joyce Hofman; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lance and Mildred Algiers.

The memorial service will be on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church, 709 W. Pine Street, New London, with Pastor Joyce Rich officiating.  Friends and family may gather from 9:30 a.m.  until the time of the service at the church.  Burial of cremains will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery, New London, at a later date.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
