James Allan Townsend

James Allan Townsend, Waupaca, passed away on April 27, 2015.  He was 67 years old.

Jim was born in Waupaca.  He graduated from Waupaca High School in the class of ’65.  He graduated from Tech school before being drafted into the Army where he served a year in Vietnam.  Upon returning from service to his country, he married Susan Morgan.  He then graduated from college and lived and worked as an accountant in Oshkosh for 30 years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Eva; his brother, Gary; and his son, Michael.  He leaves behind Susan; his two daughters, Shannon (Aran) and Keeley; four grandchildren, and many family members and friends.  Jim’s family would like to thank the staff at the Garden Park House and Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days.  Special thanks to Heidi and Sam who could both make him laugh.

Jim’s life will be celebrated at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, his family requests tribute and memorial giving donations be made to Special Olympics Wisconsin (sponsor of the basketball team on which he proudly watched his grandson play) or the ThedaCare Hospice Program (Waupaca area).
