Edith L. Meyer

Of Waupaca, age 93, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015.  She was born in Random Lake, WI on October 28, 1921 to the late Henry and Stella (Liebenstein) Grotelueschen.  On June 18, 1949 she married Theron “Bud” Meyer; he preceded her in death on June 8, 2013.  Edith worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, as a nursing supervisor, until 1976. She also taught nursing classes at Marquette University.  She then retired with Bud, and they moved to the Town of Springwater. She worked part time at Wild Rose Manor, and was an active member of the Wild Rose Hospital Auxiliary.  She belonged to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. 

She will be sadly missed by her sons: Tim (Carol) Meyer of Eau Claire; Tom (Karen) Meyer of Wild Rose; daughters: Beth (Andy) Arnold of Hubertus; Peg (August) Reichardt of Waukesha; Rosemary (Kirk) Morrow of Wild Rose; 7 grandchildren: Evan (fiancée: Jennifer Glocka) Arnold; Jake (Jena) and Taylor Morrow; Jessica and Abby (fiancé: Jeff Wold) Meyer; Will and Leeah Reichardt; other relatives and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Oliver (Jean) Grotelueschen and sisters: Marion Grotelueschen and Rita Bukovic.

The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, N2845 Shadow Road, with Father Amalraj Roche officiating.  The visitation will be on Friday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of Mass.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials are appreciated to the Wild Rose Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund.

Edith was an intelligent and loving mother who impacted the lives of her 5 children, their spouses, and her 7 grandchildren.  In her professional and personal life, she was loved and respected for her integrity and strength.
